針對麥寮鄉親北上陳情，訴求暫緩許厝國小遷校之決定，行政院發言人童振源昨（三十）日重申，政府是以「維護學童健康」為第一考量，許厝分校學童暴露在環境汙染危害健康的風險中，為維護學童健康，政府決定進行預防性安置。

對許厝民眾要求衛福部及環保署擴大健康風險評估、進行後續污染源調查、環境監測等事宜，童振源進一步表示，政府同意相關訴求，並已責成相關部會積極推動後續汙染源調查、環境監測，以及進一步關於敏感性族群的健康風險及流行病學研究。並且會與許厝居民站在一起，捍衛學童與居民的健康。

童振源強調，由於數據上已顯示許厝分校學童面臨高風險暴露的危害，因此，政府決定進行預防性安置。政府已請雲林縣政府做好學童就學的安置計畫，並且與受影響的居民、學童做好風險溝通。
